Well, after a few months of inexplicable account charges from DDN, and week + turn around time for support questions, I've finally given up. This was only made possible, though, by the kind folks at Prominic .NET. Without their willingness to support the Domino blogging community, I would have not had many places to go within budget....

Civilization is based on the premise that it is in some fashion civilized. It persists in the belief that all parties desire continued peaceful existence, if not coexistence, if no isolated xenophobic existence. But Jihadists view the world as one thing, contrary to Islam. It can not be escaped that in his later years at Medina, Muhamed waxed militant, and today the most violent of Muslim adherents amplify this portion of otherwise sound philosophical and spiritual writings. I like the line from "Kingdom of Heaven", "Their prophet [Muhamed] says 'submit', Christ says 'decide'". The decision, in this case, is whether to reject the ways of men (violence among them) and follow God or to embrace the ways of the world (violence among them). Far right Islam, convinced that 'submit' applies to the willing and unwilling alike, sees Western civilization and it's embrace of the individual right to 'decide' as nothing but the behavior of infidels. And, to a large degree, they are right....

The long anticipated replacement of UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, is just around the corner. Under Annan's leadership, UN officials have illegally profited from the Iraq food for oil program while the UN has stood by officially observing the deaths of thousands around the world where its innefectual peace keeping forces fail to fire a single shot to keep peace -- anywhere. A new leader will certainly be a welcome change from the sex-for-favors day-to-day routine at the UN. But, the newest prospective leader might not be the most impartial at this juncture....

Tony Perkins, of the Family Research Council, brought to the attention of his readers today the ruling of the EU Court of Human Rights against German parents homeschooling their children according to their own faith traditions. While this is alarming in itself (good luck telling the swelling number of Muslims entering the EU they can't teach their kids Islam at home), the immediate fear for the US is the readiness of some judges to cite foreign law....

Opinion: Gore Has Half of a Good Idea - Proposes Holding Breath

Yeah, no kidding. Gore is proposing the elimination of the payroll tax. If he would shut up, never say another word and promise not to fund raise for another Democrat ever, I would vote for him as President this time around. Seriously. The payroll tax, and the IRS, is one of the biggest drains on our economy. What is funny is some leftists accuse us right-wingers of wanting to KEEP the payroll tax so we can keep the poor in line. No, we want to get RID of the payroll tax so people get the flying F off welfare. Just stop taxing people for contributing to the economy, by working, already. In fact, I think I said a while back, if the Democrats advocate getting rid of the payroll tax they could take back the senate and the white house... and I further said none of them ever would. But, here I am, wrong about something... not sure how to react to that... I may need a minute or two....
